Category 6a includes cabling that requires a 500 MHz band and data transmission up to 10 Gb/s (10 Gigabit Ethernet). The cable construction consists of 4 pairs of cables twisted together to eliminate electromagnetic interference. The cables are made of pure copper with a thickness of 23 AWG with HDPE sheath. Every pair is separately shielded with aluminium foil and additionally one common shielding for all cables.
