It offers modern, air-conditioned apartments and hotel rooms, a restaurant, a private beach, a pool, a new swimming pool, shuffleboard courts, and porches with views of the Gulf. The hotel also provides maid service and is open year-round. The postcard was published by R. W. Sheldon in Gulfport, Florida, and was made by Dexter Press, Inc. in West Nyack, New York.

The Surte is a Swedish steam tug built in 1904. In 1969, the tug was sold and converted into a pleasure boat, then into an accommodation vessel. Since 2012, the Surte has been a floating museum and is actively used for excursions.
