A magnificent antique African woven basket with lid Unusual pattern The colours to the pattern on the lid have faded but can be seen on the inside This is a nice antique one probably C19th or early C20th With signs of age with some losses and wear to the weave This is museum quality and rivals the ones in the British Museum Stands approximately 12 inches tall with the lid The artisan who weaved this basket was obviously a master at the art as the lid has the rare teat shape rather than the more common point Came from a country house in Cornwall
