This is a vintage wood-carved and painted mask, and while just an imitation of the traditional tribal art and made for the growing "tourist" market in the late 20th century, it was brought from Kenia in the mid-1990s, and is still an authentic piece of local craftsmanship, reflective of the rich cultural heritage of the continent. Being quite decorative, this item could add an interesting African ethnographic flavour to an interior. Approximate dimensions 31.5 x 15 cm Good overall condition, possible minor areas of discolouration and wear. Please refer to the photographs for further visual information.
