Schönsperger wollte teilhaben am Boom, welchen die Herausgabe einer so umfassenden und aktuellen Weltchronik erzeugte. Schönsperger hatte bei weitem nicht die Wirtschaftskraft für eine höhere Auflage, wie sie Koberger aufbrachte, aber er verkaufte seine Ausgabe im Gegensatz zu Koberger komplett ab und war somit durchaus erfolgreich.
