A rather rare pressed brass trinket tray or ashtray depicting a British Soldier and the Union Flag. The style of the border would date it to the early years of the twentieth century. I have seen three others of this exact type online, two described as Boer War period and one as from WW1. No makers marks. Size: 16.5 x 11 cm maximum dimensions. Weight: about 63 g before packing Condition: some wear from polishing, some distortion to the centre and the edges are a bit bent out of shape, but could be restored to its original profile fairly easily if done carefully.
