The M6 periscope was a WW2 and later optical instrument used in US Army tanks including the Sherman and Stuart. There were 12 of these fitted to a Sherman which allowed for a clear view and all round observation when the tank was closed down in combat. It featured a centre knob which allowed fixing in place and a grip to facilitate extraction. The periscope could this easily be replaced in the event of damage. Manufactured in 1943 by Minneapolis-Honeywell this genuine lightly used periscope came in stores packaging and is a fully functional item with fairly good optics.( see picture ) and a slightly loose lifting grip.
