Da questo luogo magico, il loro Nonno prelevava le sue rose con le quali poi preparava, con pazienza e sapienza, le sue preziose essenze di assoluto. Paolo e Tiziana raccoglievano insieme a Lui centinaia e centinaia di petali profumati e carnosi, dal colore purpureo e vellutato che poi Lui adagiava sapientemente nel suo paiolo di rame brunito, luccicante come la luna, dell’alambicco da alchimista. A fuoco lento, alimentato dalla legna di castagno del bosco limitrofo, che con maestria del fochista esperto adagiava sotto al paiolo, dolcemente si condensavano goccioline di nettare prezioso nelle spirali di vetro dell’alambicco. Ad occhi incantanti Paolo e Tiziana passavano ore ed ore a guardare quell’indecifrabile fenomeno: il fuoco della legna trasformava bellissimi petali di rosa in gocce di prezioso nettare di assoluto. La magia dell’estrazione del profumo avveniva davanti a loro, come un miracolo divino ed effondeva il suo effluvio sino a valle lontana. Quella sera erano eccitati dall’esperienza totalizzante della sublimazione ed estrazione, quando all’improvviso, da dietro la collina ricoperta di fiori, ecco spuntare una super Luna, enorme e raggiante come mai prima, di colore rosso purpureo, fiammeggiante ed imponete, appariva così vicina che temevano potesse cader loro addosso.
