  4. Vintage Western Electric 302 Rotary Desk Telephone Black Bakelite Bell System

    This is a 1940s or 50s Western Electric Bell System black telephone with a straight vinyl cord that has an area with electrical tape wrapped around it. I think it is made of bakelite and is a model # 302 but it is not stamped on the bottom. The phone is in fair / good condition with wear on the headset and dial. There are light scratches and scuffs on the base as well as a large sticker. There is dust in the crevices and it could use a more thorough cleaning. The phone is untested.     This phone is in unusually nice condition. It would look pretty if polished up. It appears to be very complete except for the rubber "gasket" which is to cushion the bottom edge. On the bottom is "Monophone, Automatic Electric, Chicago 7, U.S.A." and seven patent numbers.
