This is a "NORTHERN ELECTRIC" Bakelite deskset from the mid-1940s. These were simply referred to as their "No. 1" model. Made with the same internals as the Western Electric models of that time. A Modular line cord was added for easy connecting at your home. A good working every day telephone. Made in Canada, but many of these quality phones ended up in the USA. ( UNTESTED ) (As with any rotary dials today, you may have dialing problems with newer digital service lines, such as, internet systems, some cable systems & others.
