So I was pressure washing the drive and all of a sudden there was a thud sound, the pressure disappeared and the motor started racing. ‘Oh, must be the pump seals’ thought I, so I went out and bought myself another second hand K3 (but the later model with a different pump). Decided to strip out the old motor for a spare and discovered the problem wasn’t the pump after all, it was the helical gears had failed in the gearbox (see pics) . So pump itself is fine as it was working great before the gears fell to bits. It’s the older style K3 with the 22mm screw fitting for the hose and comes with the inlet/outlet elbows. Might be of use to somebody. Lot cheaper than buying a new pressure washer.
