The Vintage Stanley No. 9 1/2 Block Plane from the pre-1960s, most likely from the 1940s, is a highly collectible piece for woodworking enthusiasts. Made in the United States, this original vintage tool showcases the craftsmanship and quality of Stanley, a renowned brand in the industry. With its unique design and historical significance, this block plane would make a valuable addition to any tool collection or woodworking display. This was one of my grandfather's favorite medium/small block planes, as the wear shows. Even though this was probably made around the late 1940's or maybe early 1950's, it is still in great mechanical condition. This plane might need a light honing of the blade and a bit of oil on the moving parts, but it should last for decades into the future!

I believe these are both type 2. Keeping them together seems the right thing to do. Both have been carefully cleaned and all parts greased. Item is used so you should expect signs of use and age throughout such as scratches, marks, dust and fading.
