Original L. BAILEY'S Patent, Dec. 24, 1867chip breaker and STANLEY Pat. Ap'l. 19, 92 plane blade for Carriage Maker's Rabbet Planes. This is the earliest type chip breaker with a later blade. As you know this was fairly common as these cutter irons have a much shorter working area and wear out rather quickly if being sharpened constantly.
