An ORIGINAL ROSEWOOD HANDLE FOR A STANLEY NO. 4, 4 C, 604 OR 604 C SMOOTHING PLANE. This nicely grained Brazilian Rosewood handle, which came from a "Type 7" version of the No. 4 Stanley plane, is in excellent condition, noting some minor slivers missing from the lower outside edge. The blade on this was a removable two sided cutter. This model was the scariest of all the handyman planes. This is the only one of the H series that is of interest to collectors. This one has been used they’re small where and finish removals on the totes and handle from normal use other than that it’s a beautiful shape in the casting below where the blade sits there is a number one stamped in the body.
