This is a World War two Era Type 17 no. 4 Stanley smoothing plane with a smooth sole which measures 2 3/8" wide by 9" long, it has no casting dates only a Made in USA casting, the plane iron measures 2" wide by 7 1/4" long, it has a knob ring behind the toe, the knob and tote look original and are in pretty good shape for a worked plane, it has a hard rubber depth adjustment, it's in pretty good condition but has some pitting on the soul, this plane was likely produced by the Stanley Tool Works between 1942 and 1945, thank you kindly for looking, until later Let The Chips Fall Where They May, Happy Trails to You and Yours :)
