Viburnum opulus, commonly known as the European cranberry bush or guelder rose, is a deciduous shrub native to Europe, northern Africa, and northern Asia. It typically grows in moist woodland areas, along stream banks, and in hedgerows. This versatile plant is prized for its ornamental value, featuring clusters of white flowers in spring followed by bright red berries in autumn. The fruit is edible in small quantities, with a very bitter taste.

Flowers are silk. These are easy to cut down shorter using a pair of wire cutters if required. Examples of this can be seen in our photographs on the topiary pages. Pot Type: No pot - Bare Stem. To get a natural curve on the leaves carefully hold the tip in one hand and the stem in the other and run you hand along the curve to bend it gently into shape.
