For sale is an Art Nouveau Sugar or Trinket Bowl from WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) Germany, Art Nouveau (Jugendstil), characterized by organic, flowing lines resembling leaves or plants. This trinket bowl is stylised in the firm of a Lettuce Leaf. Dates from 1886-1903 and is made from silver-plated brass. Stamped on the corner of the leaf 'WMFM' - These four-letter marks are the combinations of the word "WMF" with the additional letter: "M" notating the base metal used for silvering, ("M" = Messing, the German name for brass) dating the piece to between 1886-1903.
