This special copper piece hails from the Iberian peninsula, Spain or Portugal, likely Spain. It is a hand planished copper brasero, used as a portable heat source. The bowl would have held hot coals and been placed under a table covered with a cloth to heat the people sitting around it.

An Interesting antique French circular brass horizontal sundial or similar any information welcome should anyone know what this actually is for. The face with engraved outer segments the inner with six months of the year and opposing plus and minus numbers the rear with original steel bracket and nut.
