This is an antique Georgian brass chestnut roasting or warming pan dating to the late 18th century with an unusual guitar shaped body decorated with a family crest in an oak leaf wreath. Chestnut roasters of this age are quite rare even without decoration. Measuring 56cm long it is in very good condition with a small dent to one end, a split near the hinge (which is a bit loose, as is the handle and lid); there are no signs of repair so it is in a completely original state, and is a decorative piece of 200+ year old metalware.
